I'm a software development engineer on the product team at Telligent Systems. I started working at Telligent on June 1, 2005, and have had the honor of helping build Community Server from version 1.0 to what it is now. I have also worked on Harvest Reporting Server,and Graffiti CMS.
I absolutely love my job! I get to do something I enjoy every day with some of the smartest and most passionate people in the world. I have been writing software for fun since I was a kid, and professionally since college. My framework and language of choice are .NET and C#. In past lives I have also enjoyed programming with Fortran and ColdFusion.
Personal
I have a wonderful wife Megan and three adorable girls: my eight year old stepdaughter Mackenzie, two year old daughter Jillian, and my youngest daughter Cadence who was just born on April 2, 2008.
I was born and grew up in Fort Myers, Florida and lived in Florida until I met Megan and moved to the arctic north in 2000. We lived in northern Delaware, a very tiny state nudged in between Maryland and Pennsylvania, for a few years. In August 2005 the Harder family took their wagons west and moved to Dallas, Texas. We currently live in a lovely suburb to the north of Dallas.
I went to college at Florida Institute of Technology majoring in Space Science / Astrophysics. I had wanted to be a physicist and astronaut since the third grade, and didn't change my mind until my junior year of college. Until that point I had thought that science was what I wanted to do professionally and computer programming was a hobby. But I finally realized that I far more enjoyed programming, especially with the explosion of the internet, and science was actually more of a hobby to me. So I jumped into the world of software development without looking back and here I am.
I'm a Parrot Head who also likes listening to country, rock, and dance music. Back when I lived near warm water I enjoyed scuba diving and boating. Now I try to drag my family camping every once in a while, and we enjoy traveling. I love football and basketball, and root for the good ol' Florida Gators, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Orlando Magic. If I think of any other random useless bits of info I'll add them here...
